Ibanez SZ520QM Electric Guitar Review

The image “http://theguitarreview.com/images/aw40.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Playability:
Several things strike you immediately when you first pick up and play the SZ520. The neck is a dream – and lacks a big heel. The staggered, string-through design rings with sustain. The body is very nicely balanced and is of medium weight. The fretboard is comfortable.

The trio of sliding pickup selector switches, rotary volume wheels on the upper bout, and chrome hardware and tremolo lock are all signature Jaguar traits, and the removable Fender Mute is a built-in string-damping device created with surf bands in mind.

Ibanez FL9 analog flanger. It sounds nice, but it’s fairly polite and clean, and so far hasn’t grabbed me by the throat and yelled “Keep me!” However

Next is an Ibanez FL9 analog flanger. It sounds nice, but it’s fairly polite and clean, and so far hasn’t grabbed me by the throat and yelled “Keep me!” However, it’s important to remember that an effect that sounds very distinctive and noticeable and cool will also usually grow old very very fast when you use it too much, and in some cases if the effect is dramatic enough, too much can equal “twice”. So we’ll see how this one fares through the recording process, how much it gets used, and what it gets used for before deciding whether or not to sell it on. Also important, just like using a synth, it can sometimes take a while to find an effect’s sweet spot. But, sometimes you never find a spot you like within its settings, so eventually you trade it for something else. The most important thing the FL9 will need to do to stay around is find some way to distinguish itself from the digital flanger models we have in the Kurzweil KSP8 and some of our plugins, because currently my impression is that it’s lacking the distinctive character necessary for me to go out of my way to use it.

T-Rex Beta Vibe Guitar Pedal

T-Rex Beta Vibe Guitar Pedal

It accurately emulates the unique hypnotizing Doppler effect of a real rotating speaker cabinet, recreating the late 60's/early 70's psychedelic swirl that many players find elusive - like that dripping Phase-Chorused tone that made Jimis background sounds so epic. The unit includes a "Fast/Slow" switch which gradually speeds up or slows down the speed like a real Leslie unit. A midi socket is included for external control. All in one AC powered pedal!

The Ibanez GAX30 is also a great choice.

Ibanez GAX30
The Ibanez model GAX30 is also a great choice. If the player is not interested in having a tremelo arm on the guitar, this model will offer the tuning stability common for non-tremelo models. Ibanez GAX guitars have everything you need (and nothing you don't) for heavy-duty modern rhythm and lead playing: two humbuckers, a three way switch, and a crystal cut body of basswood.
GAX guitars started out as the best selling inexpensive Ibanez guitars in Ibanez history-now they're one of the best selling guitars of any kind in the world.

IBANEZ SZ520QM: Evolution doesn't have to mean more complicated.

Ibanez SZ520

Evolution doesn't have to mean more complicated. The new SZ has evolved into an even simpler instrument than their famous S ancestor.
The comfortable slim body with fat mahogany tone and sustain that made the S famous is there-but the SZ features simple fixed bridges and a 25.1 scale neck that has a different feel than the S guitars 25.5 scale.

IBANEZ JET KING JTK1

Ibanez Jet King JTK1

Ibanez guitars are normally known for their sleek, futuristic looks but the latest Ibanez offering looks some of the funky old axes the company put out in the early to mid-60's -- something you might found hanging in an old pawnshop. Which is exactly the vibe the new Jet King models were designed for. In contrast to Jet King's old school appearance are modern coil taps (accessed with the vintage-look rocker switches, high output pickups and the kind of quietness of operation that was unheard of in the "good old days."
Another nice touch is the brushed aluminum pickguard that combines both funk and class. In keeping with their mid-60's look, the Jet Kings feature the old Ibanez "spaghetti" logo that was used on Ibanez electric guitars and basses from the 60's until the very early 80's.

H. R. Giger Guitars

Ibanez Geiger guitar

Ibanez comissioned artist H. R. Giger (of "Alien" fame) to create artwork for some guitars. There is an uncanny depth to the finish on these guitars. It's very three dimensional without being gimmicky.
